Several people on MP have commented about the increasing hollowness of the flakes on this climb, especially near bolts 1,2,3. I think it might be useful/safer to use this summer of construction to re-epoxy the thin peeling off flakes so they stay on and don't fall off, causing injury or rendering the climb off limits or impossible. I know altering the wall in any way is a touchy subject, but given that this place is a city park that used to be a quarry, and that I can see epoxy has been used on this climb specifically in the past to hold it together, I believe to be a good idea. How could I go about working with the MCA on getting this done? |
