Description: |
Topless Twins at the Brass Wall is a trad route with a pair of bolts at the top for an anchor. Each bolt hanger has a single steel rappel ring directly through the hanger (unfortunately no intermediate quicklink.) The rap ring on the left bolt is extremely worn, with a deep groove half way through the thickness of the steel. The rap ring on the right bolt is worn a bit too, but not as bad. The grooves in those fixed rappel rings are my only concern here.
Adding new rappel rings (or chains, or hooks, or whatever) would be easy with the addition of a quicklink. However, removing the old worn rappel rings would be difficult. (Bolt-cutters?) |
