Majority of anchors on this route are in questionable condition. First and foremost, the links on almost all the anchors are sub-obtimal size and material, and have *significant* wear and tear. Anchor chains are those coldshut/folded links rather than beefy quicklinks, and then metal has corroded and worn with significant grooves. Secondarily, while the majority of the bolts themselves are in decent shape, but showing concerning signs of age and rust for such a highly traffic’ed route. Many have already mentioned it on mountainproject.com. I’m no bolting expert, but someone who is should probably run up there and take a look. |
